L2.jpg (58475 bytes) Welcome to my hanger . . .

This is the place where I can show off a few of the planes that I have built as well as the few surviving RC planes that I have left.

I have been flying, or at least learning to fly, RC for about 5 years. During that time I have owned and crashed (destroyed might be a better description) many different trainer type planes. Most of my planes are/have been ARF's (Almost Ready to Fly). I have only built one kit. It was a Sig Something Extra.

After crashing hundreds of dollars worth of planes, I went looking for a less expensive alternative to balsa-constructed planes. That's when I discovered the world of SPAD's (Simple Plastic Airplane Designs) built almost entirely of corrogated plastic. I found these planes to be virtually indestructable and that they fit my style of flying (and crashing) to a tee.

I have built many different SPAD's. One of the best looking one's was a 40 sized Stik. After flying it to it's demise, I decided to try and enlarged it up to a 60-size. It was destroyed because I was dumb and flew it with weak control rods. In a power dive, the elevator rod failed and I ended up burying it up past the firewall.

Now a days, I fly SPAD's almost exclusively. I still have, and on occassion fly, my Something Extra, but I prefer my SPA3D for low and slow 3D flying. I have a new SPA3DT in the works and look forward to getting it in the air soon.
