L2.jpg (58475 bytes) My Sig Somethin' Extra . . .

I bought this kit from Tower Hobbies several years ago. It was intended to be my "Second" plane. It took me about 6 months to get this thing built and another couple of years for me to decide on what and how to cover it. I toyed with the idea of using a clear covering and then painting it. After a couple of tries, I went with the Monokote scheme that is on it now.

I hung a new GMS .47 engine on the nose with a 10x6 APC prop. This thing floats like a cloud and can be quite a gentle flyer when on low rates. Set the rates on High and this bird can hold its own. I am thinking that maybe I need to re-prop it to something like a 10x7 for just a bit more speed out of it. I am also thinking that maybe I'll put either a Magnum or an ASP .70 four-stroke on it.

Just an update, but I recently had the SE up at the field and was floating along trying to hover it into the wind. The wind died and with almost no speed, I cart-wheeled it in. Fortunately, having been low and very slow, damage was limited to a few stress-cracks to the fuse and a broken outboard wing rib. It will take about an hour to have this fixed and ready to fly again.
